Business Delegation from Austria met with the technical department of DIMERA GROUP
NewsroomThe Commercial Department of the Austrian Embassy in Greece ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA organized a Trade Mission of Austrian companies and their Greek representatives to Thessaloniki. In the opening session of the event, Alternate Minister of Development and Investments, H.E. Nikos Papathanasis, addressed the delegation via videoconference and held a brief presentation on investment opportunities & incentives.
26 Austrian companies shared their advanced construction technologies and tourism expertise with the technical department of DIMERA GROUP that currently develops the Porto Carras Resort in Chalkidiki and the Port of Thessaloniki.
The Austrian delegation members covered a broad spectrum of interest from new materials, environmental best practices, high quality wood products and interior lighting to high-tech sensor intelligence applications.
The event was held within the scope of go-international, a joint initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
“Austria is a global hidden champion when it comes to sophisticated high-tech applications in the construction, mobility and tourism industry. We are very proud to have brought the largest and most diversified business delegation of Austrian companies in many years to Greece. Some of these companies might examine the opportunity to invest in Thessaloniki and the broader region as a next step. They are here to share their know-how with emblematic investors such as DIMERA and accompany its Greek business partners on a promising common path to growth” stated Gerd Dueckelmann-Dublany, the Austrian Trade Commissioner in Greece.
Dimitris Moutsakis, Chief Technical Officer at DIMERA GROUP warmly welcomed the delegation by saying, “We have already entered the development phase of the interesting and demanding project of Porto Carras. In parallel, we are looking forward to prepare the further development of all our projects, so, in that context, we’ve started meeting reliable and passionate suppliers”.
Apart from the 5-star Porto Carras Grand Resort in Chalkidiki and the controlling stake in the Port of Thessaloniki, the Savvidis Family Group also owns the emblematic city hotel Makedonia Palace, the TV channel Open TV, the news portals ethnos.gr and imerisia.gr, the leading FMCG company SOUROTI, the football club PAOK and significant real estate assets in the wider area of northern Greece, among other investments.
