Environment & Energy Min. Stathakis: PPC moving ahead with investments

Greece has a viable, stable growth albeit with low rates of 2.0-2.5 percent annually, but the European economy has correspondingly low growth rates, Environment and Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis said on Monday, in statements to the state broadcaster ERA1.

Stathakis said that ruling SYRIZA will present "an agressive growth agenda highlighting the extroversion and changes in the productive sector of Athens," referring to the four-year plan Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will present at the Athens Concert Hall tonight, Monday.

Asked to comment on the Public Power Corporation's (PPC) financial state, he said that "PPC came under some pressure, but despite that it went through all difficult stages and is in a restructuring phase right now. It has refinanced its loans and is moving ahead with all planned investments, adjusting to the new energy environment."
