Greek employers more optimistic over new hirings in Q3
NewsroomGreek employers are more optimistic over new hiring intentions in the July-September period, ManpowerGroup said in a report released on Tuesday.
The report said that total employment outlook rose to +20 pct, up five percentage points compared with the same period last year. Twenty-seven pct of employers expect an increase in the number of their workforce, 3.0 pct expects a decline and 69 pct no change at all.
ManpowerGroup said that employers in all nine sectors of economic activity expect an increase in the number of their workforce during the next quarter, with the highest expectations expected in the sectors of construction, transport & communications. Employers in electricity, natural gas and water also reported healthy intentions for hirings, while expectations in the sectors of financial, insurance, real estate and services were moderate. The farm sector recorded the lowest hiring expectations. In comparison with the second quarter of 2019, hiring intentions weakened in five out of the nine sectors of economic activity, led by the farm sector. Employers in large enterprises recorded the strongest hiring intentions in the next quarter, medium-sized employers expect a healthy increase in their workforce while hiring expectations among small- and very-small enterprises were moderate.
ManpowerGroup said employers expected an increase in their workforce in 43 out of the 44 countries in the survey, with the strongest climate recorded in Japan, Croatia, Taiwan, US, Greece and Slovenia.
