Dragasakis: ND's programme is a return to the past and the causes of the crisis
NewsroomThe programme presented by main opposition New Democracy is "a return to the past that does not understand the needs of the Greek economy and the challenges of the future," government vice president Yiannis Dragasakis said in a social media post on Saturday.
ND's programme was a copy of the party's programme in 1990, Dragasakis said, and wanted to reproduce the economic model that was responsible for driving Greece to crisis and debt.
"With horizontal measures and no sectoral criteria or clarifications, no views on what direction the economy should take, it ends up favouring an introverted, state-supported business sector that does not innovate and activities with a low added value. With horizontal tax cuts that favour those 'on top' and that increase, instead of reducing, inequality," he said.
On July 7, Dragasakis concluded, voters must decide whether they will build the Greece of the future and 2030 or return to the practices and ways of thinking that dragged the country into a crisis, taking with them the toil of lifetimes and the hopes and dreams of its young people.
