Changes in tactics a few days before the elections show panic, main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Monday in an interview with Skai TV, referring to Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' decision to break SYRIZA'S 'embargo' on the TV station.

However, he added, it was positive that Tsipras had changed his mind, though he is waiting to see how Tsipras' attitude will be explained to journalists and the station.

"I have absolute confidence in the President of the Republic," Mitsotakis said, referring to the Presidential Decree and the information that the President will not sign the changes in the leadership of justice. Mitsotakis said that ND is asking for a strong mandate, adding that there was no room for adventures in the country.

He also pointed out that somone voting for ND does not necessarily agree with all elements of the party's programme. He estimated that many people who voted for KINAL in the European elections will now vote for ND, while calling on those who voted for small parties to support ND.

He also called on citizens not to vote for Golden Dawn or Greek Solution. Mitsotakis gave assurances that all benefits will be maintained at current levels, also noting that the solution to poverty is to create jobs. As for tax reductions, he said that they will be implemented as of 2020.

Regarding non-insured labour, he said that New Democracy will show no tolerance and stressed that no public-sector employee will be laid off. The leader of New Democracy also said that there will be a comprehensive policy on real estate, such as the reduction of ENFIA by 30 percent.
