The new electricity tariffs are sufficient to ensure the sustainability of the Public Power Corporation (PPC), Environment and Energy Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said in an interview with 'Kathimerini' newspaper.

He added that consumers will be burdened with only 2.5 euros every month.

Hatzidakis announced that a harsh policy will be implemented for strategic defaulters. As he said, "PPC is a time bomb inherited from SYRIZA."

In addition to addressing the liquidity problem, he said, the government's strategy for PPC includes a series of structural measures "that will give the business a medium-term perspective."

One of its main goals, he stressed, is to make PPC attractive to investors.
