The possibility of Public Power Corporation's (PPC) immediate collapse was averted as a result of government measures that gave it prospect, Energy and Environment Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said on Sunday in an interview with 'Ethnos' newspaper.

However, he added that its situation has not turned into a 'paradise.'

He explained that the possibility of PPC privatisation does not concern the government right now as nobody is interested in buying.

Regarding Hellenic Petroleum, he said that the government is following Mr Tsipras' policy who had agreed with the institutions for the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) to explore all possibilities for further privatisation.
