Tsipras after KYSEA meeting: There will be sanctions against those who violate Greece and Cyprus' sovereign rights

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Sunday evening send a message to Turkey after the conclusion of the extraordinary meeting of the Government's Council for Defence and Foreign Affairs (KYSEA). "Whoever violates Greece's sovereignty rights, whoever violates Cyprus' sovereignty rights that is a member of the European Unions, whoever violates the international law in the region, should know that there will be consequences".
The prime minister in his statement after the meeting that was held at the Maximos mansion said that "all Greeks, are and should know it and feel it, totally safe".
He said that all the developments in the southeastern Mediterranean were thoroughly examined at the meeting while referring to the Turkish provocations inside Cyprus' EEZ and the violation of the international law he said that "it is not an indication of power but of weakness".
Greece is a strong country and in the last period has achieved to form very strong alliances, stronger than never before, said Tsipras.
Referring to his phone call to Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades during the meeting of KYSEA, he said that they discussed the steps they will follow in the context of EU in which participate both countries. "We agreed to pave the way in order for the EU Summit next week to take the necessary decisions, even to impose sanctions against Turkey if it is confirmed that it started drilling inside Cyprus' EEZ.
Moreover, according to government sources, during the meeting were decided the next steps at diplomatic level in coordination with the Republic of Cyprus and there will be a preparation ahead of the imminent EU Summit along with a series of meetings with country leaders that are playing a key role.
On his part, Foreign Minister George Katrougalos will leave for Brussels to take part in the Foreign Affairs Council where he will hold meetings with his European counterparts and with the Foreign Minister of Cyprus.
Government sources also said that after KYSEA meeting, the prime minister had a meeting with Defence Minister Evangelos Apostolakis with whom they mutually agreed not to be candidate in the national elections in order to continue his mission as head of the Greek Armed forces undisturbed
