Taxpayers with outstanding audit cases will need to set an appointment at the relevant tax or auditing offices rather than walk in to services, according to a circular with directions released by Giorgos Pitsilis, governor of the Independent Authority of Public Revenue, on Wednesday.
Individual taxpayers or their legal representatives can ask for appointments at the relevant service in person, or by dispatch (e.g. post office, fax). A web-based application is being developed, Pitsilis said, as part of the state services upgrade. On the day of the appointment, they will be issued a visitor's pass at the reception desk.
The appointment process will only affect auditing departments, not other departments. Taxpayers who need to visit the local tax offices for anything else not need to change procedures, the circular said.
Agencies the appointment process relates to include the audit sections of the local tax offices (DOY), the auditing centers KEMEEP, KEFOMEP, the Directorate of Conflict Resolution (DED), and services of investigation and securing of public revenues (YEDDE).
