NewsroomGovernment spokesperson Stelios Petsas, in an interview with Antenna TV on Tuesday, spoke about the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions and the the re-opening of the market, saying that the hospitality sector will have to wait until after the holidays.
Answering a relevant question, he said that cafes, restaurants, bars and night clubs will remain closed until January 7.
Petsas noted that the epidemiological burden in the country remains high, despite being in lockdown for a month, with safety and protection of public health taking precedence over other concerns.
He underlined that intensive preparations were underway to organise the vaccination operation, noting that this will be the first time that such a huge number of people are vaccinated in such a short space of time.
"We have made a plan that will depend on when the vaccines arrive and the whole process begins. This is a very crucial phase," he stressed.
