SYRIZA's deputy responsible for foreign affairs Giorgos Katrougalos in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Sunday called on for calmness and alertness following Turkey and Libya's illicit and unfounded agreement.

He underlined that careful moves are required by the government so as not to produce "de facto" fait accompli. Katrougalos also accused the government of moving without a compass on national issues.

He described the prime minister's statement after his meeting with Erdogan as that "difficulties in relations with Turkey existed, exist and will exist" as problematic and urged the government to return to an "active policy" and demand the imposition of EU sanctions on Turkey.
